Rho City Tour - Easy

 

Discover Rho and its monuments by bike

1. Piazza San Vittore & the center

Meeting at Rho train station. We first stop in San Vittore square, the heart of the city, where cardus and decumanus once crossed. 

2. The Sanctuary

The Santuario dell'Addolorata was built in 1584 in honour of a miraculous image of the Virgin that cried blood. It is decoraded with frescos, sculptures and painting of different centuries and it's still a very important place of worship and pilgrimage. 

 
3. Villa Burba and Europa park 

We cycle through Europa Park, opened few months ago, and then we enter Villa Burba, built in 1665, now public library and cultural center. 

 

4. Villa Scheibler and Castellazzo

The Castellazzo is a group of houses and farms built around Villa Simonetta Scheibler, built in the Renaissance by the noble family Simonetta. We cycle around the complex surrounded by fields. 

5. Palazzo comunale and villa Banfi

The last stop is piazza Visconti, where we can appreciate the city hall in neo-medieval style and villa Visconti Banfi, built in 1669 with a beautiful garden. 

 

Return to the train station
